Frequently Asked Questions
Did you call any of the hotlines?
Did you call any of the hotlines?
Surprisingly, no. That was why things got so bad. During a crisis moment the week before my suicide attempt, I called my support system for help rather than a professional. Although my loved ones mean well, they are not equipped to giving safe advice. Some of their advices were actually cautioned against by professionals. Your support system should only offer you their ears, but not advice. If you are suicidal or in need of strong mental health support, please talk to a professional.
What was your experience with PHP and IOP?
What was your experience with PHP and IOP?
Overall, it was what saved me. However, I had positive and negative experiences with these programs and facilities. After my suicide attempt, I was involuntary placed in a 24/7 inpatient hospital for several days. The facility I was sent to lack proper resources to keep their patients occupied despite the staff's good intentions. However, their psychiatrist was the one to finally properly diagnosed me for Bipolar Disorder with non-psychosis mania. The PHP and IOP I enrolled myself into after I was discharged was also much better equipped for my needs.
